Onboarding 3rd Party Devices to the WigWag Relay

In our getting started guide, we went over how to setup your WigWag Relay, pair your Filament bulbs, create locations, and set moods. Now, we're going to dive into how to onboard 3rd party devices to the WigWag Relay.

The WigWag Relay supports many different smart devices and our mobile app makes it easy to control them all from one convenient platform. Automated all of your porducts together will make your smart home eco system much stronger and more efficient. We’ve made it easy to pair these devices quickly to your Relay within the mobile app.

Let’s go over the specifics for a few of the more popular devices including the LIFX Color 1000, LIFX Color 1000 BR30, LIFX White 800, LIFX White 900 BR30, Fibaro Motion Sensor, Belkin WeMo Switch, and Osram Lightify.

Onboarding LIFX

1.Log into the WigWag mobile app and select the appropriate room in which you are trying to pair the LIFX bulb with.

2.Tap the “+” button in the top right hand corner of the screen.

3.Select “Add Device” and scroll down to find and “LIFX” on the menu.

4.Tap “Search for Devices” and “Next” when pairing is complete.

5.You can now edit your LIFX device if you choose to do so and then tap “Done” to finish the onboarding process.

Onboarding Fibaro Motion Sensor

1.Before pairing your Fibaro Motion Sensor with your Relay, make sure all Fibaro pre-onboarding setup is complete.

2.To prepare the Fibaro for on-boarding, open the device by rotating it until the shell opens.

3.Then, tap the “B” button located next to the battery, three times.

4.Next, log into the WigWag mobile app and select the appropriate room in which you are trying to pair the LIFX bulb with.

5.Tap the “+” button in the top right hand corner of the screen.

6.Select “Add Device” and scroll down to find and “Z-Wave” on the menu.

7.Tap “Search for Devices” (the number of devices should change from “0” to “1”) and then select “Next” when pairing is complete.

8.You can now edit and name your Z-Wave device (Fibaro Motion Sensor) if you choose to do so and then tap “Done” to finish the onboarding process.

Onboarding Belkin WeMo Switch

1.Prior to onboarding with the WigWag Relay, be sure to complete all WeMo Belkin switch pairing.

2.First, download and open the WeMo app and select “More”, then tap the “WeMo Setup Instructions” button and then the “WeMo Switch/Insight” button.

3.Follow the instructions on how to pair the WeMo device within their app.

4.Then, open your WiFi network on your phone and select the WeMo device from the list of networks.

5.Once you are connected to the WeMo device in your WiFi settings, reopen the WeMo app. Connecting make take a while but once it is complete you will be taken to the screen where you can edit your WeMo device with the provided options. Don’t forget to select “Remember WiFi Settings” in this menu as well. Then select “Done”.

6.The connected WeMo devices will appear in the WeMo “Devices” screen.

7.Next, reopen the WigWag app and select “Add Device”, then scroll down to find “WeMo” and select.

8.You can now edit and name your WeMo device if you choose to do so and then tap “Done” to finish the onboarding process.

Onboarding Osram

1.Log into the WigWag mobile app and select the appropriate room in which you are trying to pair the Osram bulb with.

2.Tap the “+” button in the top right hand corner of the screen.

3.Select “Add Device” and scroll down to find and “Zigbee” on the menu.

4.Tap “Search for Devices” and “Next” when pairing is complete.

5.On this screen, you edit your Osram device if you choose to do so and then tap “Done” to finish the onboarding process.
